1. Sprinkle wheat germ in yogurt (try to buy wheat germ that is refrigerated and keep it in the freezer to prevent spoiling)
2. Offer a flax oil supplement (Udo's Oil Blend is excellent, as it contains other beneficial oils as well) - dosage is 1 teaspoon a day for children 1-2 years, 2 teaspoons a day for children 2-3 years and 1 tablespoon a day for children 3 and over*
3. Serve whole wheat breads and pastas and try using whole wheat flour when baking
4. Avoid consuming items with the words "hydrogenated" or "partially hydrogenated" in the ingredients - margines and peanut butters are big culprits in this category
5. Try cutting back on sugar (skip the sugary cereals and cookies)
